I have always been intimidated by pie crust, so one day I googled “world’s easiest pie crust” and this is what I found … and it really IS easy and delicious!  No refrigeration, no Cream of Tartar, whatever that is… just three ingredients that you probably already have.

In a large bowl add:

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup of shortening

Mix both with a pastry blender and slowly add:

1/2 cup of cold water.

Form in to a ball and place on a floured surface. Knead for a minute or so, roll it out and place in a pie pan. This is enough for 1 deep dish pie or a regular pie and top.

Make at 350F until golden brown or use uncooked in your own recipe.

That’s it… no biggie… it makes a very flaky crust.
